We have finally arrived at the last (but not least) post in our 2012 landscaping trends series with a couple of weeks to spare before the New Year. Tell us in a comment which trends are your favorite from our 2012 landscaping trends series and which ones you’ll be trying in your garden this coming spring.

Metal

Copper, iron or stainless steel is sure to make an appearance in many 2012 gardens to add that extra charm. Metal sculptures, arbors, containers or antique gates make fantastic focal points. Let them be softened by patina, rust and gently twisting vines for a whimsical feel. Or, for a more contemporary landscape design, install a stainless steel spa.

Old Fashioned Colors

What is a garden without color? Colors that will be making a comeback to become a popular garden trend next year will be old fashioned colors like rose and mauve. An enchanting combination can be created by blending in wheat-yellow blooms or David Austin roses.
