The Great Spring Show has come and gone, but the industry is still buzzing over the 2012 Chelsea Flower Show which concluded just days ago (including all of us here at Columbine Design).
An English tradition that first began in 1862, the annual Chelsea Flower Show presented by the Royal Horticulture Society has taken place each May on the same grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London since 1913. Formally and most famously known as the Great Spring Show, this renowned 5-day event showcasing the latest and greatest in garden design has become one of the most prestigious flower shows in the world.
It took 25 days for the 550 exhibitors to set up for the 2012 Chelsea Flower Show, which featured 14 sensational show gardens each with an evocative theme that unveiled the newest design ideas and product innovations. Always an event fit for royalty, the show also provides attendees luxurious amenities including new restaurants to enjoy the event in style.
Best in Show Awards bestowed each year at this anticipated event include Best Show Garden, Best Fresh Garden, Best Artisan Garden, Plant of the Year, Product of Year and RHS Environment Awards among many others. Take a look at a few of this year’s esteemed award recipients.
