Does Your Lawn Have a Drinking Problem? Add These Water-Wise Plants

Growing up in France, I found the large, lush lawns of America to be the best thing since trailing geraniums! Seeing them in films and photos, we envied the expansive gorgeous grassy yards of the American suburbs; the grass was always greener… literally!

But times have changed, and landscapers are now more conscious about water usage. According to the EPA, the average suburban landscape consumes 10,000 gallons of water each year, and this does not include rainwater. With our semi-arid climate here in Colorado, it’s even more important for us to conserve water.

But thanks to innovative plant growers, we now have a multitude of shrubs, perennials and ground covers to choose from that are water-wise while still beautiful, lush and colorful. Here are some examples of these eco-friendly plants courtesy of our friends at Monrovia Growers.
